Product Knowledge at RSI Jemursari - TPM by Medtronic

March 14, 2018

A temporary Pacemaker (TPM) is a device to treat patients with bradycardia (heart rate lower than 60 beats-per-minute) when the condition is temporary and when a permanent pacemaker is either not necessary or is not immediately available. Symptoms of bradycardia are usually fatigue, dizziness, confusion or temporary loss of consciousness. Complications are common and include infection, local trauma, pneumothorax, arrhythmias and cardiac perforation.

In order to support our Cathlab activities and in an effort to constantly improve the quality of our services, we have upgraded our TPM devices with the latest Medtronic model. We invited Medtronic representative, Mr. Erwin, to give hands-on training to our nurses and doctors in RSI Jemursari.

With this new TPM device, SMU Healthcare commits to deliver the highest quality of care and ensures patients’ safety.
