Health Seminar and Free ECG Checkup at Angkasa Pura II Palembang

On November 16th 2018, SMU Healthcare, as Siti Khadijah Hospital’s partner for providing Cath Lab services, held a health seminar and free ECG examination for employees of PT Angkasa Pura II Palembang.

The event began at 9am until 12pm. The opening speech was given by the GM of Angkasa Pura II Palembang, Mr. Fahrozi, and Dr. Indah, the Head of Medical Services at Siti Khadijah Hospital.

The program then continued with a presentation on cardiovascular diseases delivered by Dr. Erwin Sukandi, Sp.PD - KKV. Dr. Erwin explained the forming process of plaques in blood vessels and what can be done to remove them. One option is cardiac catheterization, a minimally invasive procedure that aims at removing blockages in the arteries.

After the presentation that lasted for 1 hour, the event continued with discussions. The seminar participants were very enthusiastic, considering that heart diseases is the number one cause of death in Indonesia.

SMU healthcare also provides free EKG checkups for Angkasa Pura II employees. By holding health seminars and free EKG examinations, SMU Healthcare tries to increase the awareness of the risks of cardiovascular diseases and of the importance of their early detection.
